Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to common questions about our Stockfish remote engine service

1. Cost & Pricing

Q1: What's the cost of renting the remote Stockfish engine? Is there a pay-as-you-go or subscription option?
We offer flexible billing options including time-based pricing with minimum rental periods as short as 1 hour. View detailed pricing plans on our official website.
Q2: How are overages charged? Can I upgrade or downgrade my plan anytime?
Overage charges are calculated at incremental rates with full price transparency. Users can upgrade their plan anytime.

2. Performance & Latency

Q3: How fast is the engine? Will network latency affect analysis results?
Engines run on high-performance servers with default compute power of 30MN/s. Our global CDN nodes ensure average latency <100ms for real-time response. For lower latency requirements, please specify your location and ISP for network optimization.
Q4: Can I customize engine parameters (threads, hash size)?
Yes. You can adjust thread count, memory (hash) size, and analysis depth through your software interface to meet different analytical needs. For optimal performance, follow our configuration guidelines when setting thread and hash values.

3. Security & Privacy

Q5: Will my chess positions be stored or shared? How is privacy protected?
All analysis requests are encrypted. Results are transmitted in real-time during processing. We do not store any chess data on our servers. No one can access your analysis history.
Q6: Are there abuse prevention mechanisms? Will other users block engine access?
Rented users have dedicated resource pools with priority allocation based on plan tiers. Free trial may have concurrency limits, paid plans guarantee immediate access.

4. Compatibility & Integration

Q7: Do I need to develop my own interface? Which programming languages and platforms are supported?
No development required. You can start using our Stockfish rental service within 3 minutes without any programming knowledge.
Q8: Can I use the engine directly in mobile apps or web clients?
Partial support available. We currently offer Lichess.org integration with private customization options. Same pricing applies as standard engine rentals.
Q9: How to get technical support? Is there a developer community?
24/7 ticket support with 2-hour response for urgent issues. Social media groups available in selected regions.

5. Usage Limits & Scaling

Q10: Can I analyze multiple games simultaneously? Is batch processing supported?
No server-side limitations. Your client software might have restrictions (e.g., Chessbase has quantity limits). Our servers support asynchronous batch requests with maximum 50 games per submission.

6. Refunds

Q11: How does the refund process work? How long does it take?
Partial refunds are available if promised speeds aren't met. Refund requests are processed within 3 business days after approval.
